Hydrangea Final

Here's the final on the Hydrangea painting. I'm calling it "Naomi's Hydrangeas" since she was my mother-in-law, now deceased, and she could grow the most beautiful hydrangeas ever.

You can click on it to see a bigger version.

It's available for sale at http://www.glowing-watercolors-by-cia.com

Comments always welcome!

Hydrengeas WIP Step 4

Hydrangea - Step 4, WIP
I am loving this one, it's fun to paint, like
a good book it slowly unfolds for me. And like a good book, somehow I will miss working on it when it's done.

Update

I cannot believe I have not posted since March 15! Well, hmmmmm
There are now prints on my site at ebay. http://www.glowing-watercolors-by-cia.com
and I'm selling some of my old art books also. I have read them a million times (well, you know)
so I thought maybe somebody else would love them.

Here's the last two paintings I have there right now. There is a bid on the "Come Hither" one and not much time left.

The other one, and I do not know why there are no bids on this thing, because I think it's one of my best ones, is Confederate Roses.

On another note, I think that I am feeling a lot better finally after my back surgery back in September. More later!

This video is approximately 50 minutes long and it is detailed in its presentation. Up close to the paper and you can see what I'm doing. I've also included the colors and brushes I've used. Most importantly, I have included my secret tools! You will be so surprised when you see how one of them works!

Trying to come back!

Hello everyone, sorry I've not been posting. Seems like life is quite busy for me lately, my granddaughter, her husband and 2 year old have come to stay with me awhile. It was good
for them to be here while I was recovering from my surgery!

I have been painting! Here's some steps of the one I'm working on right now. I have another step done but haven't taken a picture yet.
Let me hear from you, and you can now subscribe to this blog! And I hope that you will! Later!

Back from a 3 month absence!

Hello! I took some time off. I cannot say why I did it, it seems that my muse was gone.
But I've done 3 paintings recently, and here they are. First this is a white rose, mostly. A friend of mine allowed me to use her photo reference, and this is how it came out. It's a half sheet.

Next, I did a painting of hollyhocks, by far, my favorite flower, since I have grown them for many years, not including the last 2 years when I've mostly been growing weeds, and helping with a great-grandson during the day.

I'm working on another hollyhocks one, it is proving to be very HARD.
I'll post it when it's done. Cia

I'm still here!

Hello! I've been so busy I haven't even been here to talk about what I'm doing!
I've been painting, and framing. Does anybody despise putting together frames as much as I do? I seem to be constantly screwing in those tiny screws only to find I don't have the corner tight enough and have to do it all over. Anyway, here's what I have just finished.

I'm very pleased with this because I have figured out how to paint an iridescent look without the use of iridescent paints. I did add a little metallic gold watercolor to the leaves but those translucent petals are just plain watercolor.

Comments?

"Sundance"

Good evening readers, I'm here right now to post my latest work. I just finished this a while ago. I really like it too! It's called "Sundance" and it's watercolor on Arches 140 lb. cold press paper, a full sheet this time! It's been a very long time since I tried to do that! Let me know what you think! Cia

Yellow Double Hibiscus

Well, this is a yellow double hibiscus. I don't like it as much as the orange one. But on we march. I'm feeling like I need to paint something else next, not flowers. But it's probably the way I feel about this picture that is affecting me.

Orange Double Hibiscus

This is my first attempt at a hibiscus. Well, the Confederate Roses are a kind of hibiscus. This one is a beautiful orange double one. I'm really liking this one. It's a combination of watercolor and watercolor pencils. I hope to do more of these!

First painting painted in 2007 by me.
